About

Artist, Illustrator, and Designer.

Lila R. Mohnkern  was born in July 1994 and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia. During her developmental years she was a part of her school’s band as a flutist. She graduated high school in 2012 and while she did not take any high school art classes she was always fascinated by the arts and would do personal works in her free time. That fall she started to attend Fairmont State University (FSU) where she majored in Studio Art. Her senior exhibit, “Wearing Your Emotions,” which depicted the mental illness of five different women, was on display at the University’s JD Brooks Gallery in spring of 2017. After her FSU graduation she moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to live with her now wife and plan her next phase in life.

In 2020 she planned the next phase of her journey by stating a degree in Graphic Communication from the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC). She graduated May 2022, lined up with Awards & More in Gibsonia, PA where she was able to start working professionally as a graphic designer.

Unfortunately this role didn’t work out, but put her in the position to reevaluate what she was wanting in a career…. and isn’t that question just always the challenge.
